CoronaVirus Update 26 March

Dear Brothers and Sisters of St Clement's and St Augustine's Churches,

We have now had very clear instructions from the Archbishops and Bishops about the closure of church buildings following the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday evening. It means that there can be no more physical  private prayer times in churches and that I have to work from home as well. This also applies to the Anchor Project at St Clements and all other church users. I shall be closing down the office at St Augustine's today and working from home apart from necessary ventures to get post and let any essential/urgent worker in. I will be posting notices at both churches.

As you know, Sarah Ranji has been working very hard to get us more equipped with an online presence. We will be doing everything we can to stay connected with you and for those able to access the internet these are the places you can connect with us:

our website:

our social media links and new website are comming soon.

I am working with Sarah and Shahram to see what we can do in the way of livestreaming, podcasts and videos. We're aiming to get something out for this Sunday. Any live streaming must be from my home, not church now.

Any funerals which occur will have to be taken at the crem or the cemetery now with only close family present. I'll be liaising with the funeral directors we know. No weddings (no change there then sadly though I live in hope!) or baptisms during this period.

Once we have got these  essentials under control I will look at starting a virtual admission to communion course, and if it goes on long enough, a virtual alpha course as the major part of  preparation for confirmation. We want to have the joy of as many baptisms and  communicants when we are back together.

For those of you not online, we will aim to send out the weekly notice sheet and anything else which we can print of interest by post. Of course we need your addresses for that, so if you are in touch with anyone who hasn't receive anything by next Tuesday and wants to please get them to contact me with their contact details. You are all welcome to call me on 07483 276505 or via
