Harriet's Orphanage

What is it?

The Orphanage is located in India and provides a home and education for some 28 destitute and vulnerable girls between the ages of 3 and 10. It is run with a Christian ethos to provide food, care and education.

Harriet, an Indian Christian, founded the Orphanage and manages it on a day to day basis with the help of young volunteers from the UK, Germany and France.  It receives no state funding and relies on sponsorship from supporters from those countries. St Augustine's became involved in supporting the orphanage through Ann Challenger after meeting Harriet at the Bradford Mela.

How you help?

Prayer - pray for the work of the orphanage and for funding.

Sponsorship - it costs £25 per month to provide for each child.  If you wish to support a child by regular monthly donation please contact Ann Challenger for details.  Similarly a single donation of whatever you can afford would be greatly appreciated.

Volunteer - Why not travel to India and help care and support the children.

For further details contact Rev Ann Challenger at the Sunday morning service or at Tuesday's One Bread.
